Shilpgram is a village-style crafts complex. The West Zone Cultural Centre runs it as a “rural arts and crafts complex”. It says the site covers 16.15 hectares and gives its distance as 3 km west of Udaipur.

Other sources do not agree with that distance. One section of the Rajasthan Tourism site says 3 km and another says 7 km. Neither is a road figure from a named starting point, so the measured numbers below are the ones to plan with.

What Shilpgram is

WZCC says the complex has 31 huts representing the member states of the West Zone, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. The site belongs to the same organisation that runs the museum at Bagore Ki Haveli on Gangaur Ghat.

We could not find a sourced list of what is sold in the huts on an ordinary day, so this guide does not name goods or prices. WZCC describes the December festival as bringing more than 650 artisans and performers to the site. Ask at the entrance what is on during your visit, as stalls may differ from day to day.

How much is the Shilpgram entry fee?

WZCC lists these fees. The page carries no date, so confirm them at the counter.

TicketFee
Indian adult₹60
Indian child, 5 to 12 years₹40
Foreigner, adult or child₹150
Camera or video₹60
Student group of at least 20, with a letter from the institute₹30 each

Trawell quotes ₹30 and ₹50, which look older than the WZCC list. We found no official source for a different fee during the festival, so ask at the gate if you plan to go in December.

What are the Shilpgram timings?

WZCC’s pages do not show opening hours. Trawell reports 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, but its fee figures are out of date, so treat its hours with care too. Allow about two hours for a walk through the huts, longer if you stop to watch a demonstration. That is our estimate, not a sourced figure.

When is Shilpgram Utsav 2026?

WZCC says the Utsav is held “in the last week of December month every year” and runs for 10 days. It has not published 2026 dates in anything we could open. It did post a stall application form for Shilpgram Utsav 2026 on 12 September 2026, which names Shilpgram, Udaipur as the venue and shows that the festival is planned.

Last year, Udaipur Times reported that the 2025 festival opened on 21 December and ran for 10 days. One year’s opening date does not fix the next. Check the WZCC website before booking anything around it.

Booking around the Utsav

Do not plan a trip around a date you have inferred. Wait for WZCC to announce the dates, then confirm the festival’s entry fee and hours at the gate or on its site.

How far is Shilpgram from Udaipur?

Measured by road, Shilpgram is about 6.6 km from the City Palace, around 20 min by car. From Hotel Rudra Kripa in Sukher it is about 8.4 km, around 25 min. The figure is to the village’s approach road.

Combining Shilpgram with Sajjangarh or Badi Lake

We have no measured road figure between these places, only from the City Palace and the hotel, so the table above is the basis for a plan. From the hotel, Shilpgram is the nearest of the three, then the Sajjangarh gate, then Badi Lake. From the City Palace the gate is the nearest. Pick the order that suits where you start.

If Shilpgram’s reported 11:00 am to 7:00 pm hours are right, a late-morning start leaves the afternoon for Sajjangarh or Badi Lake. Check each place’s hours and fees before you go. The Udaipur itinerary shows where else these fit, and places to visit describes Sajjangarh and Badi Lake.
