Most people looking for a hotel in Udaipur near the railway station want one of two things: a room a few steps from the platform, or a calmer base that’s easy to reach. We’re the second kind. Hotel Rudra Kripa is in Sukher, north of the old city, on Udaipur’s quieter side and well connected by road.

From Udaipur City station (UDZ), the city’s main station, it’s about 10.8 km, around 30 min by car. In return for the ride, you get quiet nights, free parking and a rooftop pool.

Getting here from the station

From the station to our door:

1. Take an auto-rickshaw or a taxi from outside the station, or book a cab on an app. Agree an auto fare before you set off.
2. Ask for Hotel Rudra Kripa (also written Rudrakripa) in Sukher, or show the driver our location on Google Maps.

From Rana Pratap Nagar station

Some trains also stop at Rana Pratap Nagar (RPZ), a smaller station east of the old city. It’s a little nearer to us – about 8.8 km, around 25 min by car – so if your train stops at both, getting off there shortens the ride. Check your ticket for the station name before you travel.

From the airport and the bus stand

Flying in? Maharana Pratap Airport is at Dabok, east of the city: about 23 km, around 1 hr by car. Take a taxi or an app cab from the terminal.

Rajasthan Roadways (RSRTC) buses use the central bus stand at Udaipole, about 9.9 km, around 30 min by car from us. Private buses may stop elsewhere, so check your drop-off point.

Arriving early or late

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is until 12:00 PM. Early check-in and late check-out may be possible on request, subject to availability, so mention your train times when you book.

If you arrive before your room is ready, ask whether you can leave your bags at the reception and head out. And if your train gets in late at night, that’s fine: the reception is open round the clock.
